It's there, but well hidden. Top menu grayed out Why are the top menu items (New, Templates, Open, Save, Print, etc. All the way across including Search in Document) always grayed out in Word? I'm using Office for Mac 2011 on a MacBook Pro running 10.6.8. The Writing Style option will be disabled whenever the proofing language at the insertion point is one for which the proofing tools are not installed. I think (but I'm not sure) that it may also be disabled if the proofing tools for that language are installed, but include only a spelling dictionary and not a grammar checker. Show style guides box is grayed out in word 2016 for mac.
